Speaker Gingrich Understands What's at Issue - And That's the Problem For the OthersReader comment on item: Why Newt Gingrich Was Right about Palestinian History Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jan 19, 2012 at 12:31 Be not so quick to be enlisted in the Republican Establishment's process of predetermining their favorite son. Remembering that Spkr Gingrich ran afoul of those same party elites that moved to oust him from the speakership way back is the way to understand why the Romney Superpac began the first 'character' spinoff back before the first caucus. Spkr Gingrich does have his issues, but he is no more to be treated as badly as Romney and his supporters will allow than any other candidate unless one sees the prejudice against anyone who is anti-Republican establishment as the former Spkr is. Why does anyone think there was the Tea Party movement in the first place? To be sure, Spkr Gingrich is not perfect; yet he does know what he is talking about. He's been in it for a long time and has no problem speaking his mind about what needs to be done. He's generally right on all the issues, even the ones we may not agree on. He's right about the fact that uncontrolled capitalism is given a pass on questionable investment practices in recent times. Rampant and uncontrolled capitalism is the proximal cause for the volatile markets that rake the retirement funds that too many American became dependent upon; and people call it a bad thing to curtail the 'raider mentality?' If nothing else, he is too candid for his own good; but how are we to lose if being closed mouth about what is wrong is really needed? We lose because the truth is the current occupant of the White House learned a different history lesson about America instead of the right one and is bent upon rewriting the American experience at our cost. And the Republican establishment seems bent on letting him. If the type of direction that the American government needs to follow is what Spkr Gingrich is talking about and the Republican establishment is in concert with the rhetoric of the current administration in in stopping Spkr Gingrich, we will have no one but ourselves to blame when it is determined that Spkr had it right all along and the others did not want him to play in the reindeer games.
