The UN a shameful organization

Reader comment on item: Blame the UN's Power on George H.W. Bush

The UN has the power of destruction and to create, entice, or keep a blind eye on conflicts and genocide around the world. This body's statements are vapid and hold no impact and its members do not stand for human rights, rather for murder and mayhem. The UN is an extremely corrupt body, with no checks and balances; the countries that financially sustain this body pour money into it and receive no accountability for it. Let us not forget the food for oil program with Iraq, in which billions of dollars went astray from the UN coffers and the silence is deafening. The UN functions on lies and deception and it has no dignity, more so, it supports terrorism.

Though the Palestinian Authority, which is in itself a terror group, its leaders wear tailored suits, have joined, in unity, with Hamas, a banned terrorist group, sworn on the destruction of Israel and kill all Jews, thus both groups now attest to have the very same goal, the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki Moon has ignored the entire scenario unfolding, which abrogates all agreements ever signed between Israel and the Arabs. He is expecting Israel to continue the 'peace' negotiation charade with these terrorists.

These talks, with terrorists, who want the exact opposite to peace, rather a war and to destroy Israel, have been conducted for over two decades and have achieves nothing more than Israel making concessions and the Arabs ignoring all they have committee but they keep on pursuing their goal to delegitimize, demonize and destroy Israel by any mean possible. And the UN is taking a major part in this process. It is then most shameful that the United States, as the leader of the free world, does not lead by example and withdraws its membership from this despicable organization, its leading members are countries that are repressive dictatorships and autocracies, none believe in human rights, which is the main idea on which the UN was founded. It is time for a serious call, to follow by an action, to reform the UN. It is known that since the late 1990s there have been many calls for reform of the UN. Sadly though, there is hardly any direction or consensus about what reform might mean in practice and the range of opinion extends from those who want to eliminate the UN entirely, to those who want to make it into a full-fledged One World Order Government. Or, the time has come to replace the UN with the United Democratic Nations Organization, which will promote world peace, through the process of democracy, work to decrease war, conflict and the abuse of human rights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HN6jeDxpt1M&feature=player_embedded (http://www.uniteddemocraticnations.org/) In the meantime,

I strongly suggest the UN moves its headquarters building from the heart of Manhattan to one of the shameful countries that are members of this shameful organization such as Iran, China, or Russia, thus stops embarrassing the USA for its shameful conduct taking place on USA soil.
