The poor children of these fanatics

How do mothers in these tribes accept that their children are exposed to diseases because of religious dictates? It boggles the mind that in this day and age, there are such primitive beliefs. If the Muslims wish to be different, they should really find a better way to distinguish themselves than by endangering the lives of their children. But then again, perhaps these same people practice genital mutilation.
