Islamic eschatology envisions a day when the whole world will be Islamic. Unfortunately, that is not the case yet, far from it. How to explain this predicament of apparent divine disfavor? It must be due to the unbelievers' perfidy; they just don't play fair. This provides an entree to outlandish conspiracy theories.
