History shows that the fates of ex-imperial nations are hard in general .The historical humiliation appears the most painful for them,so the word "dignity" is the key one . I appreciate the British journalist's sympathy to the Arabs.Western fears of the Chalifat on the obviously Arabian base are I think non realistic as the reunification of the ex-empire.
