Christie is a poor VP choice for many reasonsReader comment on item: Chris Christie's Islam Problem Submitted by sara (United States), May 4, 2012 at 17:00 I agree that Christie's seeming alliances with Islamists is a very troubling thing and I would expect it to come out should he be vetted nationally. This is a primary reason not to nominate him. However, I am hoping that he is not chosen for reasons in addition to this, such as the fact that he is boisterous and loud and sometimes ill mannered and he will deflect from Romney. Actually, the biggest reason I am ashamed to say is that I am forced to think like a democrat and consider nominees based on their color or gender so as to give them the best chance of defeating BHO. I hate to say it, but there are too many out there who will not want to vote for '2 white guys' on a ticket and the left will go on about how the republicans have nothing but rich white guys in their party. If I were a democrat-thinker, I would push for Condi RIce, not because I think she is most qualified, but because she is black and a woman. That ticket would offset the appeal of the color/minority/gender factor. Of course, I despise that I have to think that way and the truth is, the left will not take kindly to either a minority or a woman if they are republicans (as evidenced by the mauling of Palin).
