A Herculean task

Easy. I shudder to think how easily it happens. It must have been early 1990s, I was listening to a radio program about Turkey and Islam and wham! I couldn't move, I was glued to the radio set. Very strange. Now in retrospect it looks like a predestined event — as if someone wanted me to shake off my dewy-eyed ideas about a foreign religion. Until then my notions about Islam had been quite vague and woolly, you know what I mean. That would change radically.

Now after twenty plus years of continuous study of Islam a more realistic picture begins to emerge.
A Herculean task awaits us Westerners. Thank God we have people like Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer and Geert Wilders and many others, but still. The burden seems overwhelming.

Politicians, lawmakers? I hate to think.
