Nothing to do with Islamic vs SecularReader comment on item: Turkey's Military Capitulation Hits Home Submitted by Shishir (United Arab Emirates), May 9, 2012 at 12:01 Eventually the crash will happen as they do (if austerity in Europe does not help, it will eventually rebound on Turkish manufacturing) ,then they will shout how right they were about "islamofascist " Turkey. Problems of these sites that they see all things in society or economy through the lens of Islamic vs secular - some Manichaen struggle of Good vs Evil, which severely limits ability to analyze any situation in a ME country. And then they get all surprised. I dont know where I had said that the Turkish economy will fail because the participants are Muslims, indeed I have stated explicitly that Erdogan despite his flaws was better for the Turkish economy due to his relatively laissez faire economic policies than his predecessors. His failing was the same as Europe's, depending on a credit bubble to artificially inflate growth and give a Islamic Finance cover! His failing was the same of the secular Europeans ie impatience/greed. Please refrain from jumping to conclusions.
