About time

It's about time someone else gets this. While on work up training to deploy to Afghanistan, my platoon mate and I decried the Arab Spring as a horrific event that would not only destabilize the region, but would prove counter productive to the west and ruin the lives of many minorities.

Tunisia - on it's way to a theocracy.

Egypt - on it's way to a theocracy.

Libya - turning into Somalia

Syria - the worst case scenario in progress - Al Queda elements close to getting their hands on Chem and Bio Weapons. A firm supporter of military action, I felt betrayed that NATO attacked Ghadaffi. He may have been a giant douche, but removing him did nothing to help the middle east. Good point mentioning Shia and Sunni tension. Most Canadians think - yay democracy and freedom from dictators must be great! Unfortunately we are more and more seeing these tensions devolve into sect wars. Don't be surprised if Israel makes a move if the rebels get too close to those weapons.
