Obama and IsraelReader comment on item: Romney vs. Obama vis-à-vis Israel Submitted by Paul (United States), Sep 9, 2012 at 11:52 Really, there is no need to resort to Manchurian Candidate or foreign birth theories or race to explain Obama's policy positions whether explicit or otherwise. He is a garden variety cultural leftist and an economic centrist; the product of a standard contemporary American university and secondary school experience to which as a young man he paid more than the usual degree of serious attention. That his mother was an American anthropologist explains his intellectual and moral mindset better than that his father was a Kenyan economist. Whatever good perspective he has, and he does have some, probably was put there by his Eurocentrist (I mean that in a good way) and sensible middle class grandmother. The Jews helped found Western Civilization; they and Israel are true to that and to their special heritage but the cultural left is uncomfortable with any of that. And that explains why Obama is unreliable as respects Israel. We could ask why the cultural left cuts slack for Islam and Islamic Civilization that it does not cut for the West and its Judeo-Christian heritage; for that consult Rousseau and his latest derivatives.
