German "Verfassungsschutz" report a good read for US authoritiesReader comment on item: Denying Islam's Role in Terror: Explaining the Denial Submitted by myth (Germany), Mar 3, 2013 at 18:19 The German "Verfassungsschutz" is a domestic intelligence service to protect the constitution. (actually there is one for all Germany and one each for every substate). They publish annual reports, 2011 the latest. Here's the English-lanuage summary: http://www.verfassungsschutz.de/en/en_publications/annual_reports/vsbericht_2011_engl/ Not only is there a section "4. Islamism/Islamist terrorism Germany remains in the focus of Islamist terrorist efforts.(...)" Note, Islam appears twice in the section title. The following section even repeats the word as "non-Islamsist" for the sake of distinction. The use of language alone declares Islam as a dividing line between various extremists. "5. Extremism and other activities by foreigners endangering state security (excluding Islamism) The number of members and followers of the 45 (2010: 44) non-Islamist organizations of extremist foreigners (...)" The agency's website devotes a page to explain Islamism (in German) here: http://www.verfassungsschutz.de/de/arbeitsfelder/af_islamismus/ There's a photograph of stereotype jihadi. Clever, how they steer around ethnicity for the islamist hides his face behind a black mask. The information line box to the right is in three languages: English,Turkish,Arabic, coherent with the subject matter. The 5MB full German report goes through all the groups and displays their symbols. How is it even possible in the US to avoid the word Islam when the very groups use it in their names?
