what is the nature of the Obama-moderates? :: Reader comments at Daniel Pipes

"because we, I believe, can win over moderate Muslims " Obama says.

Why is there a need to win over moderates? Are these not true moderates? One must assume that the Obama-moderates are in fact potential radicals in order to understand the sentence. That is a contradiction. So what is it? True moderates or potential radicals?
