Another generalizationReader comment on item: Excluding Jews and Others from Law Courts Submitted by sara (United States), Mar 14, 2013 at 18:09 I hate to perpetuate this discussion as it is peripheral and I do believe that the two of us share more than we disagree on, but I cannot agree with making these generalizations. I tend to follow many of the legal proceedings with Islamic terror suspects and I can say that, yes, there are a decent proportion of lawyers with Jewish last names (and please keep in mind that this is not conclusive proof of anything), and that some of these lawyers may be ideologues such as I described in my last message to you. I would not say that it happens 'very very often'. And I am not saying that I think it a good thing, just that it is not possible to make a general statement. I can think of many exceptions. However, we cannot conclusively determine that the process by which these attorneys are selected is as you describe. It is possible that there is an ideological motive by the Muslim suspects, but also possible that the lawyers approach the defendants, or some other alternative. And yes, there is a growing powerful legal representation for these trials via CAIR and other associated groups. My point is simply - please avoid generalizations. I hope that this is enough to end the discussion here. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
