Support the Syrian Rebels?Reader comment on item: Support the Syrian Rebels? Submitted by Judith (United States), May 13, 2013 at 19:09 I understand the reasoning behind keeping the conflict going because there is no good end here. There is however, a horrific outcome to the rebels winning the game. The Islamists in control are harboring as much hatred for the Christian world as for the Jewish one and with the fall of dictators like Assad, Hussein, Kadafi and Mubarek a whole other class of people are being tortured, and killed and run out of their homes and their countries by Islamic militants who suppor the rebels. Where are they all going to go? These dictators did a good job of killing off their own people who opposed them, but pretty much left the Christian community alone. Now even they are not safe. No matter who wins, Iran's ambitions won't change, but I fear for lives of many more innocent people if the Syrian rebels win. their tentacles reach through alQaeda and all the way to Boston. We could be on the wrong side here and won't know it until it's too late. there are NO winners here.
