Egyptian DiscontentReader comment on item: What to Want in Egypt Submitted by fightfordemocracy (United States), Jul 29, 2013 at 17:22 I totally agree that the worst possible scenario for Egypt and indeed for the whole region is to have the Muslim Brotherhoold in control of the goverment in Egypt as well as the other countries in the strife-torn Middle East. One just has to look at what Morsi did in this first year in office, he was obliterating the pwoers of every branch of the government and making sure that he had total control of every branch, whether Parliament or the judificiary, you name it. If this is an indication of the Brotherhood's way of government, better they are out of the government and let them stay in the opposition for a very long time. It is very alarming and disconcerting that President Barack Obama is tacitly or maybe not tacitly supporting at least verbally the Muslim Brotherhood. How can he possibly support them in any way after what they did in Egypt this last year. Doesnt that tell us something about the President's true sympathies. Many are beginning to think that he supports Muslims no matter what but at the same time acts against Christians. We know that Christians were persecuted during Morsi's time in office. But he didnt lift a finger to help. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
