Strange ReasoningReader comment on item: What's True Islam? Not for the U.S. Government to Say Submitted by Dave (Canada), Aug 25, 2013 at 15:11 Imagine President Roosevelt after Pearl Harbor saying that the attack was done by the enemies of Japan, or General Eisenhower, after liberating the death camps, saying that those committing such atrocities were the enemies of Germany. Perhaps George Washington could have said that King George was an enemy of Britain. It seems to be a new idea that the US has a duty to defend everyone else from themselves. Even J-Street'ers and other leftists say they are really looking out for Israel. And remember President Bush with his mawkish statements about freedom for the Iraqi people. Perhaps this strange reasoning stems from modern psychotherapy, which seems to negate absolute evil and instead ascribes everything to self-misunderstanding. But there's really no misunderstanding involved in Islamic aggression, because the jihadist viewpoint is a perfectly logical and valid interpretation of religious tenets. The only neurotics here are us, many of our stupid Western elites who not only are ignorant about Islam, but who also can't muster normal feelings of resentment over Islamic outrages.
