America's Time Would be Better Spent in an Attempt to Stop the Killing, Not Killing MoreReader comment on item: Arguing against "Limited" Strikes on the Assad Regime Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Aug 29, 2013 at 19:29 As the Syrian conflict deepens its hold on the world's contradicting senses of moral indignation (to whatever degree they may be sensed), Syria is not just another 'Arab Uprising' gone 'bad.' Dr. Pipes does well to implicate the weakened reasoning for an military interdiction to censor the al-Assad regime for the use of chemical weaponry. The true moral outrage is that the regime continues to kill and kill and kill, maybe thinking that somehow his will might overcome the will of the rebellion. The reasoning is faulty all around and certainly some indignation for the tens of thousands that died before the use of gas deserved better rhetoric from the American Administration's pathetic attempt at virtue. The Russians will not be amused; and neither will the Israeli's, since they are now involved by proxy, Iran's favorite way to play at war. This cannot go well for anyone.
