An Apology is Due

Mr. Speedie apparently is an academic ignoramus who has failed to read, understand, and assess the writings and research of Dr Pipes. Or perhaps he is, for some nefarious political reason, deliberately trying to slander and damage the reputation of Dr. Pipes. Or maybe Mr. Speedie is just another apologist for psychopathic islamic murderers. Obviously Mr. Speedie has damaged only his own credibility with his pathetic attempt to discredit and malign the outstanding scholarship, research, and enlightening and insightful analysis and reporting on the middle east that Dr. Pipes has long provided.

An apology is due. I doubt Mr. Speedie has succeeded in undermining Dr. Pipes' role as an independent analyst one iota. Dr. Pipes' refutation makes that perferctly clear. Mr. Speedie should now at least issue a retraction of his misleading commentary on the work of Dr. Pipes.
