2013 : A BAD YEAR TO BE A SUNNIReader comment on item: Saudis Bristle at Obama's Outreach to Iran Submitted by PAUL JEFFERY (Australia), Dec 4, 2013 at 18:08 Despite the vast difference in followers in favour of the Sunni, the Shiite have made permanent gains strategically and pyschologically against the Sunni. The difference is leadership. A good example of why a religion needs good and consistent leadership is Catholicism . Catholics have had three strong leaders in John Paul II , who help dismantle Communism and the false prophesy of liberation theology , Benidict who stopped doctinal deviances and Francis the compassionate pope. For the Shia there is no doubt what it's leadership in Iran are about and the back up they are willing to provide. The Sunni has no plan for Africa other than to search and destroy. The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is under the boot of the military. The opposition in Syria hate each other. In Pakistan tribalism and clan warfare are important than the peasant.Turkey had a chance to lead but chose materialism instead. In indonesia the Sunni has fallen under the spell of Javanese assertivness dressed up as Indonesian nationalism. Is this a turning point in Islamic history with a mortal decline in Sunni influence ?
