And here I thought all along that in islam, the whiter you are, the purer you are. Do the abeed think that way?

Bernard Lewis wrote a very nice little scholarly piece called "Race and Color in Islam" - eye opener for those WHO READ (SOMETHING THAT IS NOT DONE ANYMORE). Readers here should get a copy.
