Sisi, right or wrong?Reader comment on item: Sisi's Incompetent Anti-Islamist Campaign Submitted by A.T. Halmay (Canada), Mar 25, 2014 at 11:23 You certainly make sense in your comments and yet I find myself in total disagreement for the following reasons. Dealing with Islamists is akin to dealing with primitive predatory animals that have two basic purposes in life - to eat you and to preserve their own lives. One of the most primitive and predatory beast is the crocodile which could kill and eat a baby hippopotamus with ease. I once watched some film footage of a small, shrinking pool of water in Africa during the dry season in which were crowded several huge crocs and hippos. I watched the eyes of a hungry croc lusting for the baby hippo but eyeing its huge mother who could have cut the croc in half with one bite - and the croc controlled his instinct for aggression to spite his hunger. Islamists are no different from that crocodile. You can't treat them as human beings who can reason. You have to kill them or convince them that you can and will kill them when they step out of line. Only then is there a chance that they will behave as civilized human beings. Will the world disapprove of Sisi's drastic measures? Yes, part of the world will, but the rest of the world just sits there and does nothing when a Hitler or Stalin behaves outrageously and they'll do nothing here either. Moderation is a wise tack in many things but not in dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
