Shadi Hamid and dissimulation or lying by omissionReader comment on item: Sisi's Incompetent Anti-Islamist Campaign Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jun 24, 2017 at 06:41 Dr Pipes I planned to write a book review of Shadi Hamid's book "Islamic Exceptional ism" Then I came across a very interesting review of the book by Roger M Cook Mr Cook is not impressed with Shadi Hamid's book and he accuses him of dissimulation or lying by omission I urge you and the readers to read his review and here is the link https://www.amazon.com/gp/review/R5GQZE2C0660A?ref_=glimp_1rv_cl The book in short is no more than cheap propaganda for Islam, Islamic Shari'a and the Muslim Brotherhood and blatant lies and distortion of "what really happened" as in claiming that the Muslim Brotherhood members disavowed Qutb's most controversial ideas which is not true. Shadi Hamid as expected tries to advance the ridiculous claim that Islamic Shari'a in benign great and is just as good as the American Constitution In response to this claim Mr Cook poses the following questions to Shadi Hamid and they are: 1. Does Shari'a allow require/genocide (offensive jihad to extend Islam)? 2. Does Shari'a allow slavery? 3. Does Shari'a allow/require apostacide (murder of apostates)? 4. Does Shari'a allow child marriage forced marriage and sex with children? Then Mr Cook wrote if the answer is in the negative then we the readers should be provided with evidence from the Qur'an and from the Islamic literary sources What really motivates a so called scholar to practice dissimulation? Is it money? After all Brookings received millions of dollars from Qatar which in turns supports the Muslim Brotherhood Or is it no more than cheap Islamic propaganda? It is more shocking when our publicly funded NPR provides a platform as well as approval of Shadi Hamid and his dissimulation http://www.npr.org/2017/06/20/533617455/history-of-our-time-how-americans-view-islam I was hoping than President Trump will be able to change direction of the US in regard to Islam and admits that Islamism is the enemy of our civilization and designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization But I guess the "deep state" seems to be running the show in regard to Islam and Islamism Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
