lying by omission is an important tool in the apologists' toolkit

Dear Dr Pipes,

Your frequent reader DNM cited a reviewer who accused Shadi Hamid of lying by omission. Indeed, lying by omission is the most important tool in the tool kit of Islamic apologists. They will gloat on the western TV for hours about virtues of democracy and pretend to be scholars but will not say word about absence of democracy in the Islamic majority societies in the world and absence of respect fro democratic values in parts of the Islamic doctrine.

I thank DNM for highlighting this issue. Unless we force Islamic apologists to accept and speak the truth, change in Islamic world will not come. What DNM did has to be repeated by all of us until democratic values are firmly established in the Islamic mindset.
