Putin and the fate of Morsi and the MB in Egypt. Must readingReader comment on item: Sisi's Incompetent Anti-Islamist Campaign Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Apr 4, 2014 at 08:10 Dr. Pipes I'm providing you with a link to an article that was written by the Egyptian liberal and secularist Tarek Heggy http://www.copts.com/english/?p=6084 He interviewed Vladimir Putin following the June 30 2013 uprising by Egyptians against the MB and Morsi and indeed Putin was able to diagnose the reasons of why the MB and Morsi had to go and here are his reasons and they are: Morsi and the MB lacked the following 1. A strong leadership armed with a clear and unwavering vision and exceptional administrative talents 2. Egyptian popular support for that leadership 3. The support of a number of influential countries in the region Putin indeed hit the nail on the head and yes the MB won elections but the above reasons is where things went wrong And in the words of @salamamoussa: Morsi "represented a party that can both win pluralities and support wife beating."
