We're fighting the wrong wars

One needn't have the prescience of Nostradamus to see that future historians will roll their collective eyes at the failure of 21st Century Western civilization to comprehend and defend against its principle existential foe. While the current Obama administration continues kneeing Russia and China in the gonads, the purveyors of Islam make inroads into numerous Judeo-Christian secular strongholds, including those in the United States.

Dr. Pipes correctly points out that the failure to deal effectively with the Afghan Islamist scourge did not begin or end with Barrack Hussein. And it was George W. who, post 9/11 wasted treasure and blood fighting the wrong Muslims at the wrong time for the wrong reasons. What our presidents and politicians seemingly fail to comprehend is that the war we're in is less tactical than ideological.

If you live in a toilet, no matter how many antibiotics you take you're going to continually find yourself getting infected with disease. Root out the Taliban from Afghanistan and five minutes later it will reappear as well.

This is why we need to protect the regions of the world not yet under the pathologic thrall of Islam. In our country this should involve the following:

• Institute a ban on new mosque construction

• Monitor all mosques. Those who foment seditious ideas to be shut down. Permanently.

• Immediately cease Muslim immigration

• Root out Islamic organizations that have insinuated themselves into our educational institutions, particularly those universities and colleges that play host to such egrigious entities as the Muslim Brotherhood.

• Ban Islamic lobby organizations, beginning with CAIR

At this point, Islam has presented itself as no less a threat than Naziism. Waiting for moderate Islam to appear stands little better chance than waiting for the Easter Bunny to deliver your brand new Ferarri. Therefore, it's time we face reality and protect ourselves against this malevolent menace. While most certainly not a complete list, rather than mucking about in Afghanistan, the line items I've just suggested represent a much more useful start in the war we should be fighting.
