Droughts are prophesied for the last days.Reader comment on item: The Middle East Runs out of Water Submitted by Michael S (United States), May 11, 2015 at 02:51 Hello, Ron Daniel cannot predict the climate over the next few years; but if what he is reporting is true, then yes, I agree with you that I take pleasure in the misfortune of Israel's enemies. The situation is somewhat like my (relatively distant) cousin at Auschwitz before he died. If he had lived, he would have been glad at the demise of the Nazis. You mentioned "senseless sectarian wars". In an odd sense, those wars actually are not senseless. Our father Abraham separated himself from the nations around him, in proclaiming that there is only one God of all. By claiming that there is only one true God, and that all others are not gods at all, Abraham opened the door to sectarian rivalries. The moderate Sunnis, the Islamists, the Shiites, the Jews of their various sects, the Christians, the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witnesses -- all of us proclaim that there is only one true God. But is He the god of the Wahabbis? or the God of the Seventh-Day Adventists? If He is truly God, then these are important issues. Pagans and Atheists do not fight over these things; because they don't believe in the uniqueness of God. When wars break out over these matters, it shows that God is real to at least some of the combattants, and that these things matter. Some end-times prophecies do mention severe drought, as well as water tables becoming saline and undrinkable. Isaiah 19 is one, pertaining to Egypt. May God be magnified in all this.
