Lisan al-Arab and teaching one tablighee at a timeReader comment on item: Claiming Jerusalem is in the Koran Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Sep 19, 2015 at 12:57 Our dear SF provides us with a translation Mash'allah but where does it come from? He does not tell us Glory to Him (God) who made his servants go at night from the forbidden place of prostration to the farthest place of prostration which we have blessed... I'm going to go only after the word servants because you underlined it and where do we go but to ابن منظور لسان العرب and here what the word means if you can read Arabic https://ar-ar.facebook.com/notes/nezar-elgazzar/%D8%A7%D8%B5%D9%84-%D9%83%D9%84%D9%85%D8%A9-%D8%B9%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%AF%D8%A9-%D9%84%D8%B3%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A8/533691636675060 And here is a summary of the meaning of the word yes it is a Shia site but the meaning is the same http://shiaweb.org/books/khalal_alwahabia/pa34.html 1. Servants 2. Slaves 3. Those that pary to him This is what I provided you in my translation Now the verse continues with لِنُرِيَهُ or "..so we can show him our signs", Careless reader again this aya is an example of what al-Mufasereen called التفات and you can the aya split into three parts 1. سبحن الذي اسرى بعبده ليلا من المسجد الحرام الى المسجد الاقصا These cannot be the words of your Allah they are the words of Moses right? 2. Allah's response is the second part of the aya as these cannot be the words of Moses الذي بركنا حوله لنريه من ايتنا After all your Allah spoke to Moses not to Bani Israel do you get it? 3. Last part is Moses' response انه هو السميع البصير And this is Moses' respone This is the poor syntax of the Qur'an is all about now if you do not get this much then you are beyond help surely if we accept your proposal ~ It is not my proposal it is what the verse is really saying "..who made his servants (pl.) go at night from al haram to al aqsa" then this latter part of the verse should be "..so we can show them our signs", no? The answer here is do a linear translation the following will only be accepted references from لسان العرب Now Go!
