Is it a surprise? The political systems of the entire Islamic world is collapsing.Reader comment on item: ISIS is Collapsing Submitted by Prashant (United States), Apr 19, 2016 at 17:43 Dear Dr Pipes, it is not a surprise at all that ISIS is collapsing. In fact, if we speak with courage and do not mince words, the political backbone --if there ever was any-- of the entire Islamic world is collapsing. Political systems of Iran, Iraq, Egypt, the great Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria of Assad, Syria of ISIS and almost every other nation controlled by outfits that do not want to respect the separation of church and state are collapsing. The question is not when the political systems of these countries will collapse. The question is how much damage they will do to people around the world before they collapse. It is an irony that we live with. The countries that should have been a joy for anyone to visit --just compare Italy with Tunisia-- are the countries that no one wants to touch with a 20-ft insulated pole! And the citizens of these countries are running away from their own nations in desperate conditions. I write this thing with utmost humility because millions of people in my own country (India) live in dire circumstances. And, lots of us leave India for greener pastures. And our system may also collapse due to the burden of over-population and poverty. But we are not killing each other for political supremacy. Today, as I write this note, thirty people were murdered by the Talebans in Kabul. These kinds of killings may be difficult to understand for the people who wonder which form of Sharia driven theocracy is better than the others. The people who can think outside that context know it as a mathematical theorem that all forms of theocracies are bad.
