Excellent article Dr Pipes. It is surprising that ISIS has lasted as long as it has considering how much suffering is inflicted by economic sanctions even when on a properly functioning state like Iran. If Iran couldn't handle it, it is no surprise that ISIS which nobody would want to do business with in any case is going to collapse.
