When one examines the more common history of France, one wonders if there are not more reasons than what is currently explained as to why France seeks to lead in affairs for which they appear to exhibit little historical competence. Actually, there is the under running misplacement of trust that France should be involved in the Middle East at all; and it is not about their 'colonialist' past either, at least not directly. Napoleon did not enter the Middle East a colonialist, but as an Emperor.

The Middle East story has always circumnavigated around one central theme: how did/does a nation interface in Jewish history, which is critical to history in general?

Solve that and the supposed future of France will become plain as the nose on De Gaulle's face-N'est-il pas vrai?.
