Empire Building in the Global Context is Foundering on the Shoals of Competing InterestsReader comment on item: Who Will Write France's Future? Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Jul 14, 2016 at 15:36 The era of building empires, indeed the epoch of the many trying to develop a modern equivalent of Babylon is waning, the circumstances of global conquest being challenged from all corners by all comers, factionalism being the cancer of societies that cannot find any decent common cause that could be held together except by the use of force. The alliances spoken of in the Daniel scenarios are a picture of the history long competitions of nation against another, commencing with Babylon and working its way through the successive empires and regimes, all of which competing for supremacy in a world that has not yet seen a peaceful solution executed for the true benefit of the humanity of mankind. As is demonstrated by the dialogue Daniel, world peace does not truly come to pass until the 'Prince of Peace' purges the evil from the world and replaces human government with truly Divine government, the ultimate goal as spoken of by Yeshua HaMashiach, the ultimate ruler of Jerusalem, Israel, the new Heavens and Earth. All other attempts in empire building will be terminated with prejudice. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
