Objective criticism of IslamReader comment on item: The Case of Christopher Bail Submitted by Prashant (United States), Sep 12, 2016 at 22:52 Dear Dr Pipes, regarding your article about Christopher Bail, our world does not suffer from too much anti-Islamic attitude. If anything, it suffers from too little anti-Islamic attitude. There is no religion of the world except Islam that has not gone through severe criticism. Religions take lead in criticizing each other. Hindus criticize materialistic attitude of western religions, everybody criticizes Buddhism for being agnostic, Hinduism is everyone's open target for being polytheistic and for the caste system that it directly or indirectly supports. I have yet to meet a person who does not ridicule evangelical christians. It is only Islam that has been forcibly raised to a false pedestal. No one can ask why all Muslim nations are fighting each other. No one can ask why Muslim nations always end up fighting with everyone. No one can ask why if Zionists did some harm to the, so called, Palestinians, why should it become the cause of worldwide hate for Jews among Muslims. No one can ask why apostasy is so severely punishable in Islam. No one can ask why Quran 5:33 exists. No one can ask if Allah can create an angel to tell something to Muhammad, why can't he create lots of other divine things. No one can ask why would Allah issue a gag-order on himself by declaring a last prophet. No one can ask why if democracy is so good for Italy, it is not even talked about in the context of Saudi Arabia. The list can go on and on. No one can criticize Islam because Muslims defend it even at the cost of extreme violence and they are trained from early childhood to do not question Islam themselves. The lesser we say about the modern day academics the better. You are very likely to become a star academic if you stand up to defend Muslims --9/11 notwithstanding--. And you will lose a lot of grants and will be termed a bigot if you ask the exact same questions in the context of Islam that have been asked millions of times in reference to other religions. But it is changing now. If you notice, social media is full of people raising objections to Islamic politics and Islamic political hypocrisy. In private, everyone knows and says that religion of peace is a ROP in name only. What Muslims must realize that they more they allow their religion to be criticized, the better it will get. No one likes when children do not get all opportunity that they deserve. And it is anyone guess how much opportunity do children in Pakistan being raised in the shadow of the Talebans must be getting. Or children being raised under the tutelage of ISIS. And, of course, PLO was the mother of all modern troubles. The sooner normal human beings are allowed to question Islam in normal settings, the more peaceful our world will get and the more we apologize for Islam, the more troubles will chase us.
