Not a bright future for leftist professors.Reader comment on item: The Case of Christopher Bail Submitted by Michael S (United States), Sep 13, 2016 at 03:15 Hi, Daniel. You said, "Bail can reasonably expect to teach elite undergraduates for many decades, stamping left-wing orthodoxies onto impressionable minds." I certainly hope this isn't so. As you say, Duke University is a Left-Wing sort of Laputa, levitating, as it were, high above the real world. Remember that Duke was founded and sustained by Methodists; and that Methodism is on the ropes in the US: Frankly, I think intellectualism in general is in decline. The Millennial Generation is characterized by a very large percentage of college graduates unable to find work in their field. Of course, decent blue-collar jobs are also in decline. The only group that seems to be on the rise, are disgruntled, under-employed people of all races, of the Gimme Gimme political persuasion. It's the sort of philosophy that doesn't actually have to be "taught" to people. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
