Good Chronology But Should Begin Earlier

Mr. Pipes,
Thank you for the chronology, but more importantly thank you for your excellent main theme: Passivity is the worst kind of response to militant Islamic terror.

However, I wish to remind you that there was an incident in the early 70's at the US Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, when Cleo Noel and others were murdered by a faction of Arafat's PLO, with his (Arafat's) full knowledge. While one may argue that the PLO is secular, I believe that Ayatollah Khomeini and Arafat are cut from the same cloth, when one assesses the underlying motives of both.
