"We the Ignorant"

I don't believe that any one of us is ignorant. We are a diverse, vibrant people here in America. Hashing through ten separate world issues could produce a thousand different combinations of sentiments. I might agree with you on one of those issues or nine of them. So, because I dissagree with you on that one issue, does that make me ignorant? Be that as it may, I will continue with my thoughts under the assumption that I am ignorant.

Using your letter, by paragraph, I, one of the ignorant, will try to explain why we feel the way we do.

Yes, we go on and on about how America is free, because we know this to be true. We, as Americans, can say anthing we please. For instance, how many countries would allow a web site like this one to circulate? How many countries would allow it's people to slander their leader the way half of America, including our politicians, does to George Bush? We are free to say what we like, and to do as we please.

We, the ignorant, don't believe that Muslims hate freedom. (When I say Muslims, I mean those living in the middle east, Persia, if you will.) They hate us. They hate our way of life, our "decedence", our freedom of choice of religion, and they hate our support for Israel.

We do indeed have a problem with Mexicans...illegal Mexicans who cross our borders, live and work in this country for years, never pay into our social security system, yet feel free to use our emrgency hospital rooms when they are injured or sick, or have babies in our maternity wards, or collect welfare through different offices using a plethera of different false ID cards on our dime. For those of us who live in what was nice quiet neighborhoods, and is now predominently hispanic, we don't like being told by immigrants that we should learn Spanish, instead of them learning English. America was built partly on immigration, but with total disclosure on their part.

It's a safe bet to say that Muslims in the middle east are talking about us. Muslims in this country are talking about us, saying how evil we are. That doesn't make them uneducated, that's just their way of life.

Why would the UAE be upset with us? For them to send suicide bombers to kill us would be insane. A very large percentage of their income comes from us.

According to you, extremists are an important part of our world, because wihout them, news anchors wouldn't have a job. Our daily lives would be boring... That's not weird.

The media, every part of it, is biased. FOX leans to the right, ABC,CBS,CNN, and NBC lean to the left. Do you really believe that Al-jazeera is the only one with a "no-spin" policy? The story about the American guard at Abu-graib flushing a Koran down the toilet, although completely false, was spread throughout Persia by Al-jazeere, which started a new wave of "Death to America" chants.

You keep mentioning that most Muslims are uneducated, that they don't get to read the headline news, and that their "Imam" is their only source of news. If this is true, why then do these "descendants of Muhommad" spread so much hatred? You also said that 9-11 was a recruitment strategy. In other words, terrorism victims who suffered at the hands of Muslims did so because it was an attemptt at Muslim unification. Is this a rightous justication on your part?

America did not go after all of Islam after 9-11. But, and I say this with certainty, most of Islam watched the towers crumble with a smile on their faces. But America did respond. We hit , and we hit hard, justifiably. We were careful to attack only strategic "hot spots" where the enemy kept their weaponry. It wasn't out fault that the enemy kept them in largely inhabited areas, resulting in collateral damage. Having innocents die is strictly a Muslim strategy. Why do you think we have ground troops in there now, instead of employing the "shock and awe" strategy? We put our own at risk to keep the collateral damage to an absolute minimum.

How do you tell an "uneducated" Muslim that his religious leaders are evil, and that America is not really the devil? Generations of Muslims have been brought up believing the opposite.

Every time America strikes??? What does that mean? Are we not supposed to react when attacked?

America joined WWII after she was attacked by Japan. We built a strong friendship with our allies because of it.

No one that I know makes fun of Poland for losing a fight. They gave it ther best shot, which is more that France did, and that's all you can ask for.

France did help us during our revolution. But before they did, they sat back and watched as Colonial General Horatio Gates won a close battle in Saratoga, and they watched as General George Washington lost a close one in Philadelphia. France was terrified of England,and refused to commit themselves to the war until they were sure that the Colonials were for real.

But what do I know....I'm ignorant.
