WWIII is on the way, and will not be late.Reader comment on item: Is There a Palestinian People? Can It be Defeated? Submitted by Michael S, Jan 11, 2017 at 04:50 The only effective capital of "Palestine" is Gaza City, given to them by Israeli PM Ariel Sharon when he ethnically cleansed the Gaza Strip of Jews. About half of the formerly Hashemite-controlled part of Israel (Areas A and B of the Oslo Treaty "Territories") are also under limited Arab autonomy. No part of Jerusalem is part of those areas. Israel has also, in the recent past, controlled a great part of Egypt and Lebanon, as well as all the Golan. Its ancient claims legitimately extent to Syria, as far as the Euphrates River. I don't see the "Palestinians" as serious contenders for this land. They are relying on the UN Security Council to give them the land (ultimately ALL of Israel), most likely by force. Jordan and Egypt have made peace with Israel, withdrawing to the borders known today; and the Syrians and Lebanese have long-standing, UN-brokered, cease-fire agreements. The only countries in the area capable of attacking Israel are Turkey and Iran; and at that, they would probably have to act in unison to have any hope of success. I expect such an attack in the near future, and I expect Israel to win. There has never been a comprehensive Arab-Israeli peace; so the facts on the ground there are the ONLY pertinent facts, when it comes to the boundaries of the Jewish state. This will continue, throughout the foreseeable future. Talk to the contrary is, for all intents and purposes, irrelevant. I expect the Trump Administration to strongly support Israel for the next four years. After than, Israel may be on her own diplomatically. I expect a strong, US-led diplomatic opposition to Israel, commencing around 2024; and a full-scale, UNSC-ordered attack in 2027. You said, "wars end when one side gives up" In this case, I expect Israel to be devastated; but I also expect a world-wide nuclear exchange to follow, devastating the members of the UNSC (including the US), and possibly of the UN as well. This will be every bit as horrible as dystopian thinkers imagine it to be. I then expect the Messianic Age. I think we'll see the details unfold better, as the new Administration settles in.
