response to Daniel PipesReader comment on item: Is There a Palestinian People? Can It be Defeated? Submitted by Richard Martin (China), Jan 29, 2017 at 06:57 Can we agree that to be considered a people requires having some history beyond .a few decades? Palestinians have no history. That was so utterly evident when they opened a $24 million dollar Museum of Palestine and were unable to find one exhibit to put inside. A completely empty building standing as testimony to their non-existent history. No accomplishments, famous statesmen, writers. Artists, a currency, National documents, etc. It is all a complete farce. It is selling you the Brooklyn Bridge. Palestinians always rejected a state from the infamous 1948 NO to the UN right up to Camp David and beyond. They always had reasons to say NO and never to say YES. The reason being they were never about having their own state but undoing the Jewish one. The objective is no different today but the strategy is. Diplomatic terrorism has largely, but not entirely, replaced violent terrorism. Diplomatic terrorism is working far better than old fashioned wars. But in the end, the Palestinians still look to other Muslim nations for help in applying the coup de grace to Israel. Foremost on the list is Iran and their partner, Hezbollah. Abbas and others now have the realization that a Palestine inside Israel is not a hindrance to destroying Israel but an enhancement. There is no end to the trouble the PA/PLO/Hamas can subject Israel to as a Nation State. And the best part is Israel can no longer enter their space when disaster happens. Israel will have to file "grievances" to some International forum and you know the opinions about Israel in every one of those. Israel will never get a fair shake and ultimately Israel may have to decide on "invading" Judea Samaria and of course be excommunicated from the league of humane nations lead by the likes of the EU and UN. But it may be already too late. Palestinians may have managed to infiltrate Israel as workers, marriage partners, etc., in such numbers that the Israel of today is no longer recognizable. it is no longer the Jewish Nation as it exits today. Accepting the lie that the palestinians are a real "people' is to embark on a road that only leads to disaster for Israel. They are not a people. And to talk of a "Palestine" in Judea Samaria while Jordan, which is the majority Palestinian nation and 77% of the original Palestine Mandate is absurd. That is as bad a contradiction of History as saying palestinians are a people or Zionism is Racism.
