Recognizing the Golan as part of Israel?

This is not the first article that has appeared on the topic in recent weeks. It was also reported that Netanyahu asked Trump to recognize the Golan as Israeli territory during their recent meeting.

Dr. Pipes, do you see this as realistic or wishful thinking, considering UN resolutions and the political obsession with the land-for-so-called-peace formula? Would such a daring move by Trump force Europe to follow along?
