Karen Armstrong is not a scholar of Islam and her views of Islam and its history should be totally rejectedReader comment on item: Academic Malfeasance: Another Mangling of Views about Islam Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Aug 6, 2017 at 06:48 Dr Pipes This is only a side issue but Karen Armstrong is really a joke. For example on page 12 of her horrible book about Muhammad's biography she tells us that only one school of Islamic law approves female genital mutilation (FMG) then she goes on and tells her readers that FMG is not Islamic because it is not mentioned in the Qur'an And her flawed coclusion is: FMG is not an Islamic practice! Well if she would have really read the Qur'an she would have discovered that the Qur'an is also silent about male circumcision So by her very flawed logic this would also make male circumcision not Islamic! Horrible woman and still her book sells like hot cakes and I wonder why Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
