Dawa is very dangerousReader comment on item: Academic Malfeasance: Another Mangling of Views about Islam Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Aug 13, 2017 at 17:37 Hi Mike You wrote: >Tablighees are just as much a major threat. No doubt that Tablighees are very dangerous and should be included in the travel ban There is a new book by Ayaan Hirsi Ali about the very dangerous Dawa and the title is "The Challenge of Dawa" and I hope Dr Pipes would comment on it It is very refreshing that the Hoover Institute would sponsor such book something that you will never see it happening in places like GeorgeTown University And check this video of an interview of Ayaan Hirsi Ali the very dangerous Islamic Dawa 2. As for Muhammad: You see his Sira that was written by Ibn Ishaq but it is not extant and what we have is a redaction by Ibn Hisham (D 837 AD) and in his introduction to his book: al-Sira al-Nabawiyya he makes it very clear that he removed all the unpleasant history in the life of Muhammad This makes one wonder that the life of Muhammad was even more sordid than the one we find in Ibn Hisham's redaction However, Henri Lammens believed (and I believe that he is correct) Muhammad's Sira is no more than exegesis of the opaque revelation called the Qur'an and I would add there is nothing historical about it John Wansbrough goes one more step and concludes that Muhammad's Sira is really all Heilsgeschichte or Salvation History aka Pious fiction and that we really don't know very much about the life of Muhammad BTW Ibn Ishaq is very hated by Muslims because the picture of Muhammad that emerges from his biography is that of an Arabian warlord and caravan raider and very unpleasant man Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
