Do Jews and Israelis Also Share Humanity?Reader comment on item: Academic Malfeasance: Another Mangling of Views about Islam Submitted by Dave, Aug 6, 2017 at 22:00 I'd like to see academics also interview Jews in the US or Israeli military in an attempt to plumb their psyches and emotional sensitivities. It may come as a surprise, but American Jews often face a lot of hostility if they went to college before their service, and Israelis face lethal hostility every day. It's probably surprising to many of those who inhabit academia that globally there is far more sympathy and political support for Muslims than Israel or Jews. It just doesn't seem that way in America since Israel is relatively popular here, but that is hardly the case elsewhere. The world at large is more akin to a college campus. Grand illusions of Muslim persecution seem to fuel partisan sympathies for the underdog on the Left, but that is hardly an excuse for slander and fanciful versions of Islam.
