Boat Ride on the Rhine Instead/Reader comment on item: German and Austrian Media Outrage Me Submitted by Robert (United States), Sep 20, 2018 at 09:17 Dear Daniel & Company, I think you've made a mistake in your itinerary. After the fall of Napoleon, 1815, Germany hasn't had much success with its Political Science (Political Economy) or International Relations, except passively and economically. It will probably take at least another Generation for Islamism to assert itself and take its revenge on Germany. France and Germany is another matter, since France gave the world the French Revolution, and the French and Germans have learned to live with one another after Bismarck, the Two World Wars, and Hitler. So a trip on the Rhine might be more fruitful in initiating a discourse on European Western Civilization, especially as it relates to the Enlightenment, which hasn't yet confronted Modernity with consequences of the Muslim Brotherhood supported by Ottoman Erdogan of Turkey and his "highway" of "sending" potential Political Islam upon the Colonization and Settlement of Millions of Muslims - especially in France and Germany. Jews have generally a very small minority in Europe - except in Poland, whose Jews, especially Russian, but also Prussia (later Germany), and Austria-Hungary mostly acquired through the (Military) Partition of Poland. But the millions of Muslims who are Colonizing and Settling in Europe, as a partial consequence of the failed Arab Spring, are not a Minority issue. The situation is somewhat similar to the Fall of the Roman Empire when the Uncivilized Hordes from the North and East descended on Rome, and Rome was burned, leading into the Middle Ages, and the rise of Muhammad about 200 years later. The largest "invasion" of Muslims into Continental Europe occurred as a result of the Algerian War of Independence,1954-1962, and in May 1958, with the collapse of the Fourth Republic, and its replacement with the Fifth Republic under Charles de Gaulle; de Gaulle subsequently granted French citizenship to Algerians. Therefore, France has the most "mature" Islamic minority community in all of Europe. This another reason for you and your friends to drift along the Rhine; in addition, former West Germany has a relatively "mature" Kurdish and Turkish Muslim minority community. All this should generate a much calmer dialogue regarding the future of European Civilization consistent with these "oldest" minority hailing from Islamic lands. So, I think your group has picked the wrong European neighborhood in which to hang out in at this time. Unless, of course, you want to start (or prove) a riot.
