Appreciation for the United States

Thanks for this interesting look back at this event. Your comment regarding your experiences overseas and being the reason for your appreciation of our country hit home. By the time I was eighteen; I had lived in Europe and the Far East. I too had that same appreciation you did for our country. I had numerous debates with others about Vietnam and Communism. I shiver when I think of the turn our country could have taken under the circumstances of that time. I shiver when I think about the efforts of those now to steer us towards socialism.
