We need democracy in Islamic theocraciesReader comment on item: Harvard's Communist Uprising, 50 Years Later Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jan 29, 2020 at 21:04 Dear Dr Pipes, Your reader Robin P Clarke stated that Islam's decline has begun and more and more muslims are calling themselves Ex-Muslims. I find a lot of things in the Islamic doctrine that make it unfit for me to use as a guiding philosophy. I hope many Muslims around the world are also finding it to be true. The idea is not to insult or harm Islam. The idea is to bring it to a form where many of its objectionable doctrines are questioned and, then, either modified or dropped and ignored. Islam has thrived because it does not offer some freedoms to people that are routinely available to people in non-Islamic societies. I believe that all people in the world should work to bring democracy in the lands occupied by Islamists at this time. Blasphemy should not be a crime. If Islam survives in the presence of such freedoms, all the power to it. Otherwise, it must change.
