So what is the surprise?Reader comment on item: [Bureaucratic Leftism and] Globalthink's Perils Submitted by Robert Fusfeld (United States), Sep 24, 2002 at 21:43 Many of these governments have at their political base, an experience with some form of socialism. I am politically a socialist but what I have come to understand is that anti-semitism is the socialism of fools. As an easy scapegoat, the countries that are purporting to follow the position you are describing are very pro-Palestinian and quite anti-Israeli. Many, such as France, Germany, the Low Countries, and, of course, the Arab States, are at root influenced heavily by their hatred of the Jews. So, Mr. Pipes, what surprises you here? The United Nations is the most anti-Semitic institution on this planet. The day British and US corporations decide that oil is above morality, you will see world Jewry threatened with extinction. That is, unless Saddam or some maniac Middle Eastern messiah does not nuke Israel first. Then, watch out. Of course, I have not forgotten that there are now in Israel fundamentalist Christians and Jews creating the Red Heifer. Keep up the very interesting commentaries. You are among a handful of persons willing to talk in real language and eloquently spread the "truth".
