Tiny theocracies will be a joy for planet earthReader comment on item: Israel and the Temple Mount's Five Muslim Rivals Submitted by Prashant (United States), May 15, 2021 at 13:16 Dear Dr Pipes, In one of my letters to your forum, I recently called Israel a theocracy. I do not have full knowledge of Israel's constitutional structure but Israel's Jewish proclivity, indeed, make it somewhat theocratic. I am against religion-based countries but I deeply support Israel's right to exist and be Jewish. How do we reconcile this contradiction? I personally do not consider religions as feuding and mutually competing entities. The only differences between different religions is that they were born separated by time and/or space. Thye are all valuable and parts of our common human heritage. We should respect them all. And, that is why I love Israel and find Islamic tendency to grab lands and people so abhorrent. Indeed so abhorrent. Islam does not present a newer look on its topic. It claims to be the only correct religion that is entitled to destroy all other religions. It wants to destroy even those religions that say the same thing that Islam says and say it better. That is why I so deeply oppose hundreds of Islamic nations on our planet and Muslim's desire to create even more of them. But I contend that small theocracies like Israel should be protected and encouraged by all (even non-Jews). I would love if we create small sanctuaries around major religious centers of the world. All theocracies! Let there be a tiny Sikh nation in Amritsar. A tiny catholic Christian nation in Vetican. Muslims of East Jerusalem should pretect Jerusalem not as a Muslim trophy won in a war but as teh capital of a Jewish nation. Let there be Islamic theocracies in Qom, Mecca, and Baghdad. And, Hindus/Buddists can designate their own little theocracies around India and world. And we should leave the rest of the world in which humans can conduct secular business.
