Mr. Erdoğan's "What Our Religion Tells Us" - Unique Unto HimselfReader comment on item: The Religious Roots of Turkey's Currency Crisis Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Dec 29, 2021 at 21:11 Dr. Pipes's analysis of failure here pinpoints a problem that Erdoğan's attempts to lead Turkey into some Islamic utopian frontiere is misguided at best and unsurvivable in the long term approach of preventing a total collapse. If there is to be a sample successful Islamic politcal enterprise, the Saudi's or the UAE are better samples since they were 'created' from a non-Islamic basis of ecominic culture; coming from the collapse of the Ottoman regime. Finding oil in the land of Teman and nomadic bedouin sands in the 1920's did not hurt either.
