Agree with M Tovey but I want to add something.Reader comment on item: The Religious Roots of Turkey's Currency Crisis Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jan 4, 2022 at 16:48 Dear Dr Pipes, I agree with M Tovey when he wonders if Turkey has enough financial power to stick to the ways of Islamic finance while everyone else is choosing to live by capitalistic methods. I just want to add one more thing. It is 100% OK if Muslims choose ways of Islamic finance. To each his own at his own peril. But something else is not OK. What is not OK and must be challenged is when Muslims advertise the supremacy of Islamic finance without even having basic understanding of finance. Sometimes Muslims claim as right what is wrong (e.g. there is nothing unethical in charging Interests on loans). Other times Muslims claim what is right as theirs when it is not explicitly theirs (e.g. not investing in certain sectors like liquor and weed, is a matter of secular ethics and there is no Islamic monopoly on it.)
