The existence of humanity is on a course to a certain destiny: its inevitabilty is determined and execution occurs moment by moment just as it has been doing for centuries; even millennia. In the breadth of that time, how many preople were born, lived a life of futility, many more doing so with little more than a scream of rage against that futility than the very, very few than somehow left some scratches on rocks or parchment scribbles declaring that a power beyond their mere mortal comprehension told them ot do so. Some wrote of a truth; many more were delusional.
Of that truth, those that seek its secrets are on a quest that have a hope and an eventuality of achieving that truth. The others, who have little hope of determining their own lives' destinies, let alone that of a world now evidently totally out of control, try to sever their minds from the truth for the lack of desring to know the truth. It's a choice.
Just like the alternative of seeking the truth is a choice as well, with hope connected to it that truth is real; and it is obtainable. Choosing that some of the Ancients were delusional and should be avoided appears to be something worthwhile; but finding and keeping the truth when one finds it is the better choice; and history has its proofs if one know where to seek it.
