Who funds the bad Muslims?Reader comment on item: Trust the Palestinian Authority? Submitted by Prashant (United States), Apr 13, 2022 at 19:46 Dear Dr Pipes, In reader Noor's message above I read that 7% of the Palestinian budget is used to assist the families of the martyrs. This observation reminded me of a question that I have been thinking about lately. I would like to figure out what is the exact money trail that funds Islamic terrorism. As Noor's observation tells us 7% of the Palestinian budget is used for the welfare of the "martyr" families. For the purpose of this message I will accept the popular Islamic refrain that there are some bad Muslims and the remaining Muslims are good Muslims. So, let us try to think who funds the bad Muslims. First, it is possible that bad Muslims are funded by the Western superpowers who want the Islamic world to remain in turmoil. Muslims often mention this as the cause of Islamic turmoil. Second, it is possible that bad Muslims are self-funded. They earn money, donate it to the cause. And, then, fight until they martyred. I am pretty sure that this is a revenue source for bad Muslim. Third, it is possible that bad Muslims are funded by good Muslims either willingly or through fraud. I have recently been seeing a lot of ads for Islamic charities. Some of these charities might be funneling money to wrong channels. Fourth, bad Muslims may be funded by unsuspecting non-Muslims. For example, I know a lot of die-hard supporters of (the so called) Palestine in the US. This source is like the previous one. Fifth, bad Muslims might be getting funded by Western governments and the UN. For example, USA gives humanitarian aid to an Islamic government and that government might be funding bad Muslims, How much of the Palestinian GNP comes from the foreign governments? Sixth, Islamic countries might be helping Islamic terrorists in foreign lands. We all know that 9/11 attackers were funded by sources in KSA. Seventh, another source of revenue for bad Muslims can be counterfeit currency. In 2014-2015, India expired all of its currency and some people speculate that it was done to defund Islamic terrorists and the Pakistani sources funding them. Eight, perhaps bad Muslims are funded by drug trafficking and other kinds of illicit trades. We all know that Afghanistan has been the biggest producer of Opium in the world. Nine, are bad Muslims funded by plain-and-simple crimes like looting and robbery? This was the original Islamic method of funding armies but I do not see many examples of this in the modern world. Common citizens of the world should try to uncover the answers to these questions. Terrorists also need funding to support themselves. We need to know from where that funding comes. I hope spy agencies of the countries like India/Israel and USA are examining the money trails that start in foreign lands and end up with suspect elements in those countries.
